Janine Gould, Director of Communicate Consultants will facilitate the second session. Public speaking can be a daunting experience … but not anymore. Janine has over twenty years’ training experience specialising in verbal communication skills; she will share with us some helpful tips to overcome your fears. Cathy Quinn, the chair of legal firm Minster Ellison Rudd Watts will be speaking at our June meeting. We are delighted that she has taken time out of her busy schedule to address the first lunch boardroom session for the year.
Cathy sits at the head of one of New Zealand’s pre-eminent legal firms, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts. It is also one of the largest legal groups in Australasia. Cathy has shown great tenacity as chair, helping guide the firm through some very tough times, employing an innovative approach to business development and people management.
Cathy is the 2010 winner of the Veuve Clicquot business woman of the year award. The award pays tribute to female achievers in business and industry around the globe, who exemplify the qualities of Madame Clicquot, the entrepreneurial woman behind the successful champagne house Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin. Cathy is a woman excelling at the highest level in New Zealand Business who clearly embodies Madam Clicquot’s characteristics of vision, innovation and tenacity. Past recipients of the award have been entertainment entrepreneur Julie Christie (2008) and media entrepreneur Anna Stretton (2009).
Cathy will talk to us about her journey so far, her goals for the future, what it like overseeing a large firm and the winning formula needed juggling work commitments and bringing up two energetic boys. She will also share with us her thoughts about winning the award and what it means to her.
